Membership

How do I join?

To join there is just one simple form you need to fill in to register.

Simply fill in your email address, a password of your choice, a screen name of your choice and just click the “Create Account” button. It’s that straightforward.

You will be able to update more information about yourself, such as a description, hobbies, interests and a photo once you have created an account.

Once an account is created you will need to activate your account, see the “How do I activate my account” question above for more information.

How to I close/delete my account?

To close your account please do the following:

  • Login to the site.
  • Click “Edit Profile”.
  • Select the “Hide/Close Account” option from the edit profile screen.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to close your account.

PLEASE NOTE: This process will delete your account along with all messages sent and all messages you have received permanently from the site.

If you are a considering closing your account because of the actions of another member, please instead report this member using the report button found at the bottom of their profile page. Don’t let others ruin the site for you.

Can I hide my account?

Yes, you can temporarily hide your account which will prevent other members from being able to view it. You will still be able to log into your account, but you will not be able to contact other members.

To hide your account you need to be logged in and select “Edit Profile” from the menu.

Next click the option labelled “Hide/Close Account” and then follow the instructions on the proceeding pages.

Can I join if I live outside New Zealand?

We are afraid not. Completely Free Dating New Zealand is only for people living in New Zealand. You, therefore, must be living in and accessing the site from within New Zealand.

We do however have sites for people in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia, so, if you live in one of these countries, please join the site for your country:

How do I activate my account?

Once you have registered, you will be sent an email containing a link. This will be sent to the email address you have used to register. To activate your account simply click on the link in the email. This confirms that the email address is correct and genuine. Once your account is activated and your “basic profile” is complete, you are free to search and send messages to other members.

If you do not receive an email asking you to activate your account, then you can request it again by clicking the “request new activation email” from the left-hand side of the page once you are logged in. You are still able to log in even if your account hasn’t been activated. Remember to check your email spam/junk folder just in case the activation email has been automatically filed there.

Completely free, surely not, how much really?

Really, we are free, completely free. We are completely free dating by name and completely free dating by nature. We do not charge for any part of our dating service. You can join, send and receive messages all free of charge. Please register today and start using our completely free dating service. Safety

Are my details on Completely Free Dating safe?

Yes, we never give out our members’ details to anyone else. Your email addresses, passwords and messages are all confidential and are never disclosed to anyone, unless compelled to do so by law. Please see our privacy policy for more details.

Is online dating safe?

As long as you act sensibly and responsibly online dating will be safe for you. It is important that you never publish your personal details such as your address, phone number, email address, bank details or any other personal information that could be used by others. There will come a time when you feel ready to chat to someone away from the dating website and it is at that time that you need to use your personal judgement on when you feel the time is right to give out your phone number or email address. I think I’m in contact with a scammer, what do I do?

If you believe you are in contact with a scammer or even just concerned, please inform us by using the “report profile” button on the members’ profile page. It is important that you inform us immediately if a scammer has contacted you so we can prevent them taking advantage as soon as possible.


Messaging Members

Can I check and send messages if I am on holiday outside of the UK?

No. If you try to log onto your account from abroad, your account will automatically be deactivated. As part of our scammer protection technology, we block member access to people outside of the UK. To have access to your account once again, you need to send us an email and we will remove the blocked status. Please send emails to support@completelyfreedating.co.nz.

Can I send a message without joining?

No. You need to join in order to send a message to a member. There is no charge to join and use Completely Free Dating, so join today by completing our very simple and quick registration form.

Can I view the messages I have sent?

Yes, you can view all the messages you have sent by click on the “Chats” section of the site. All your conversations appear in the “Chats” section.

Can other members access my chats?

No, Completely Free Dating uses a secure messaging system and you are the only person who has access to your chats. Obviously, the person you are chatting to will be able to read the conversation, but only the conversation you are having with them. The Completely Free Dating team are only required to have access to messages when a complaint has been made.

How can I stop someone sending me messages?

You can block another member from their profile page. Click the “Block Member” button which you will find towards the bottom of their profile page.

How do I contact other members?

To contact other members you must be a member and be logged in. Once you have found someone you wish to contact, select the “send a message” button located next to their picture and profile details. Simply write your message in the box provided and click the “send message” button located beneath the message box, remembering to check your message for spelling and grammar mistakes first. It’s as simple as that.

How many members can I contact a day?

There is no limit to how many members you can contact a day or the number of messages you send. Some other free dating sites do impose limits, but at Completely Free Dating we don’t, so go ahead make new friends today, as many times as you like.

How many chats can I have?

You can keep as many chats open as you like, there is no limit. You might, however, want to remove some older chats you no longer require to keep things neat and tidy by deleting them. Also, unlike some other free dating sites, we don’t have a time limit on chats, allowing you to keep them for as long as you need.

I had been sending messages to a member, but their messages have gone. What has happened?

This is usually due to the profile of the particular member being deactivated, either by choice or by the team at Completely Free Dating. When a profile is deactivated, any messages previously sent by that member are removed.

I received an email telling me I had a new message, but there was not one there, where is it?

This usually means that the person who sent the message has been removed from the site before you have had a chance to read the message sent to you. When someone’s profile is removed, their messages are also removed. This is to protect our members from scammers out there trying to make contact with innocent members.


Adding Photos

I’m having difficulty uploading my photo, what do I do?

If you are having problems uploading a photo onto your profile, please contact us at support@completelyfreedating.co.nz and attach the photo(s) to your email and we will upload them for you.

Do I have to upload a photo?

No, you do not have to upload a photo onto your profile, but it is recommended.

Many people choose to only view profiles which contain photos, so by not uploading one you could be limiting your exposure to other members.

Favourites List

Can other members see I have added them to my favourites list?

When you add a member to your favourites list, you will then automatically appear on their ” Who’s favourites am I on” page in the members’ area. This also means you can see all the members who have you on their favourites list. To do this simply login and click on the ” Who’s favourites am I on” link on the menu.

How do I remove someone from my favourites list?

To remove a member from your favourites list, simply click on the “Remove” button next to their profile card when viewing your list of favourites.

How many members can I add to my favourites list?

You can add as many members to your favourites list as you like; there is no limit. Simply go to the profile of the member you wish to add to your list and click the ‘Add to Favourites’ button which is located next to their profile description and photo.

Someone disappeared from my favourites list, why?

Only active members will appear on your favourites list, so if a member has decided to leave the site or they have been removed for any reason they will no longer appear on your favourites list.
